Bowie State University has landed $2.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to funnel more students into its cybersecurity program as a pit stop before government jobs in the field, the university announced Thursday afternoon. The historically Black university, Maryland's oldest, joins a cohort of 102 other partner and pilot institutions that receive funding and support through Alexandria-headquartered NSF's Scholarships for Service Cybercorps program. Six other universities that have a major presence in Greater Washington also are part of the initiative.
